How do I buy a vacation home in the Lake Tahoe area to use and rent out.?
February 27th, 2010 | by admin |I want to be able to use the property 2 – 4 weeks a year. It would be great if it would pay for itself month to month, but I could handle a monthly payment. What areas should I look in? Is there a property management group I should know about? Real Estate agent I should know about? Should I wait a year or two for the market to come down?
NOW IS AN EXCELLENT TIME TO CONSIDER LOOKING INTO THE ADVANTAGES OF HOME OWNERSHIP! There are over 19,000 new and re-sale homes currently available under market value! There are many foreclosures, bank owned homes and short sales that are priced very low. Now is the time that we can make low offers, because there are a lot of vacant homes and sellers have to drop the price just to get noticed.
I am a realtor in that Las Vegas NV area, but I have a friend that is an agent in the Lake Tahoe area… A vacation home is a great idea right now. There are so many opportunites for buyers right now. I have clients that have vacation homes and they use it while they are in town and then rent it out the rest of the time they are not there. This really helps out the mortgage payment and you are building equity in the mean time. Please contact me if I can refer you to my friend in Tahoe. How about henderson NV, have you heard of it?? That is where I am and I love it. It is a great area that does not even feel like Vegas. There are many parks, trails, golf courses, and of course a ton of things to go and do. Look online for vacation homes or find a realtor that will show you properties around Lake Tahoe. Choose one you like. Make sure it cashflows. Buy it by taking out a mortgage and rent it out.
Chances are any home there would need astronomical rents in order to cashflow but I wish you good luck.
