In most states the landlord is only required to post a notice that he/she intends to enter the property. Your permission or attendance is NOT required. The landlord has the right to show his property even when your on vacation.

You are protected by landlord tenant laws, but you’ve neglected to tell us what state you are in, so I can’t tell you what your rights are.

In most states, a renter is REQUIRED by law to allow the landlord or his agent access to the house to show it for a purpose of selling it. The amount of notice that the landlord is required to give you varies GREATLY by state. They have every right to show the property upon reasonable notice. While you are on vacation no notice is required. While you can be present at showings you can’t require that you be present. Showings won’t be scheduled around your schedule.

I think they can, as long as they already notified you. Just put away anything that someone might be able to grab and put in their pocket.

I think you CAN require that you be there when they come in. You're going to need to talk to a tenant's rights advocate or attorney in your area. Many cities have a tenant board or something like that. It seems fair to not have something running around your home when you're away.
