What are property taxes for non residents on US homes?
August 29th, 2011 | by admin |I have heard that property taxes for non-residents in the US are not regulated. In other words, they may be volatile from year to year. Is there somewhere I can find more information about this, if it’s true?
Property taxes are the same for as a resident. It doesn’t matter if you are not a resident.

Property taxes for EVERYONE change from year to year usually. Properties are assessed every three years and taxes for the next 3 years set. They often go up each year.

your county assessor does that on all properties in the county, there is a residential rate and a commercial rate, I don’t know anywhere that has a distinction re: the residency of the owner

And they are volatile for U.S. residents too (except in California). Property taxes are the same for residents and for non-residents.
