If the home that I’m renting isn’t registered as a rental property, is my lease invalid?

The county that I live in requires that all rental homes to be registered as such. Do I have a valid lease if the home isn’t legally a rental property?

Yes your lease is valid, it is a separate contract, you do not have to worry about a thing.

However, the county will fine the landlord. You are 100% unaffected.

Doesn’t sound like the lease would be valid. It is still a contract though. If you are trying to get out of a lease without paying penalties you should go to the athorities. Say something along the lines of "I rented this house, but I recently found out that it is not legally registered at a rental property" I now want to get out of my lease.
