I am considering purchasing a rental property with a family member but i am worried i will not qualify for the new home buyer tax status.

No, investment property never does.

The tax credit expired April 30th. The home needed to be your own residence or you wouldn’t have received the tax credit anyway.

    A. the tax credit expired April 30. You had to have a SIGNED contract by 4/30 and then SETTLE by June 30.

    B. No rental properties were NOT covered for the tax credits.
