Does anybody know the current property values and prices regarding homes in Cape Town, South Africa?
December 29th, 2009 | by admin |Was thinking about moving to South Africa, and would like to find out if the housing in Cape Town is affordable…..what can I expect?
Depending upon what currency you will be paying with will determine how affordable it is.
At the moment it is a buyers market in South Africa as people are having trouble selling houses due to very high interest rates and a new credit control act that came in last year.
I’ll give a few sample prices for a 4 bedroom house in a few areas around Cape town. (I have quoted prices for the better areas in each region)
Western seaboard: R2 – R7 million
Northern Suburbs: R1.6 – 5 million
Southern Suburbs: R3.5 – 8 million
Atlantic seaboard R6 million +
Obviously there are some exceptions. Property prices are still expected to fall a little over the next few months.
A very comprehensive estate agency.
