		<description>You&#039;ll file an appeal - then they&#039;ll schedule a hearing, and you&#039;ll present your case on why you feel your assessment is too high.  You&#039;ll have to do some homework here - you need to show that it&#039;s assessed higher than comparable properties.  Just showing that you couldn&#039;t sell it for that price has nothing to do with it - there&#039;s no requirement for assessment to match current market value, just to be comparable to the assessment of other comparable houses.

Call the county assessor&#039;s office for info on how to file an appeal.
