How Do I find appraisal information on a newly built home/townhouse?

February 23rd, 2010 | by admin |

I am interested in a new townhouse (built by Pulte). I am curious as to what the real appraised value, in this market, is for this property. Does anyone know where I can find this information? Or would I have to hire an appraiser before I make an offer?

Also, how do I find out what these units have sold for recently? Because it is a new development, I can’t seem to find anything. Where do I look?

Thank you!!!

In the old days Pulte would pay for a "Master Appraisal" and you could see it. Now every home is appraised individually as it sells. So there is nothing for you to see on your unit.
You can visit with neighbors and they will tell you what their appraisals were. Type the addresses into the County Assessors website and you will have to entire list of selling prices. If you go to the office in person, they will help you.

You have to have it appraised yourself. Even if someone else had it done it is not public information.
