What if the spill was cleaned up properly?
It will murder it as no-one will want to take a chance on buying a possible environmental diaster,,,It would have to be properly dealt with and certified clean to restore value..Also no mortgage company will loan on this till its cleaned up.

i think it would depend upon your home's proximity to it.. but also remember that malls have the tendency to decrease in quality as newer malls are built elsewhere..
probably good for values for awhile, but i think eventually it would decrease or stop increasing
