I live in a rented house. Every now and then I wonder if we should have a fire alarm and / or burglar alarm. But since it isn't our house I can't really get one installed. Is there such a thing as a simple home security system ...

What if the spill was cleaned up properly?
It will murder it as no-one will want to take a chance on buying a possible environmental diaster,,,It would have to be properly dealt with and certified clean to restore value..Also no mortgage company will loan on this till its cleaned up.

If so, what is the usual timeline for such a transaction? Are people really paying outside vendors for the renovations? I know this is dependent on the property itself but is it really that good of a business idea to do such things?
